Sports Academy Sponsorship
As an up and coming youth basketball player, Wayde spent seven years playing for Sports Academy AAU Basketball in Baton Rouge, even winning a National Championship in 2012.
Fay and Wayne Sims, along with board members of The Wayde Sims Foundation, gifted customized Visa gift cards in the amount of $144 to members of Sports Academy AAU Basketball Team.
Remembering the hearty appetites Wayde and his teammates possessed, Fay and Wayne knew Wayde would be ecstatic about their desire to help lessen the burden for these players, parents and coaches while they traveled to Orlando for the YBOA Nationals.
At a team practice, Wayne shared stories about Wayde’s time spent playing for Sports Academy before going on to become a star basketball player at University High School. Wayde’s basketball skills earned him a scholarship to Louisiana State University where he continued his basketball career.
In keeping Wayde’s memory alive, Fay and Wayne never want to miss the chance to spread the Love of God!
